Practicing Resurrection 2006 was the inaugural conference co-sponsored by *culture is not optional and Russet House Farm. More than 130 people gathered at Russet House Farm in Cameron, ON, from August 7-13 for a unique opportunity to gather with a community seeking to live faithfully in all areas of life.
During the week, participants toured a local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm, visited an Amish farm for a conversation about faithfulness, relaxed around campfires and common meals, and swam in a nearby lake--among many other partcipant-initiated activities.
Then, on the culminating weekend, we reached capacity for conference activities. Workshops ranging from fashion to farming to rock 'n' roll to canning sparked wonderful evening conversations around the campfire. Keynote presenter Norman Wirzba provided a philosophical and theological framework for an ecology of sabbath, while the rock band OVERHANG provided musical entertainment throughout the weekend.
