Garry was raised on the farm next door to Russet House (the photo is from '47) and is still farming nearby with his wife Margaret, at Ashwood Centre. The Centre is in the formative stages of becoming an applied research site for alternate strategies in agriculture and sustainable living systems. AKA "hobby farm", with horses and beef cows and red wigglers. Garry is currently the Senior Policy Analyst and Certification Reviewer for Local Food Plus, an organization with a focus on sustainable/local food production and distribution systems. With 20 years of experience, he continues as an independent organic inspector of crops, livestock and processors.
