God and Dinner Part 1: Why what we eat, and who we eat with matters

We’ve lost touch with food. Food is essential to survival — and yet our culture is involved in a vicious circle of gluttony and dieting. We work in order to have food — and yet many of us never grow food for ourselves. Our days are organized around mealtimes — and yet we often eat in our cars, isolated from others. Our churches are organized around a table — and yet there are still hungry people in our congregations. This workshop will explore a New Testament ethic of eating that takes into account what’s on our table, who’s at our table and how it all relates to God’s table.
