Urban Green and Landscape: Sustainable Land Use, Biodiversity and Quality of Life

Based on her experience from Brazil, Madga will be presenting on the increasing trends we are seeing towards larger and larger megacities. She will highlight the many benefits we receive from trees, how we can create better systems to integrate trees in the city and particularly how trees can increase the quality of urban life.

Marianne will be presenting on how the changing climate impacts urban agriculture and peace in the city. She will talk about planned adaptation and how we can increase biodiversity and the health of the urban forest under climate change.

The workshop will be a scientific, international and local Canadian reflection on the changing climate and how that impacts what we can grow in the city. It will stress the value and benefits of trees and how this impacts both quality of life and peaceful coexistence with one another.
